Neotome is a free HTML-based template for featuring your stories on your own website.

Neotome is a webpage template for writers.

It's primarily a template for the fanfiction writer who wants to display their works on a place that is fully theirs, not just AO3, Wattpad, Tumblr... Maybe they want to archive their existing works on their website, or maybe they simply want to post anything from multi-chaptered series to ficlets and drabbles without the pressure of pageviews and likes.

It's also a template for any writer—fiction or non-fiction—who wants to do the same.

Neotome's code is extensively commented: if you're a complete beginner, you may be able to comfortably take your first steps in HTML through figuring it out.

It's also simple enough that if you're an experienced web dev, Neotome should be a piece of cake for you to customise and spice up.

About the creator

Neotome is made entirely by me, cc! Among other hobbies I write fanfiction and code for fun.

I initially set out to host my fics on my own website because I wanted a place to archive and present them the way I want them to look, and then realised it'd be cool to share this with other people.

While I do publish my fics on AO3 and I genuinely like its slow-going social aspect of sharing works on a platform where there's lots of people seeking very specific things, I still think it's important to make my work available on multiple places, especially independently of big centralised platforms.
